Warriors for Warriors Pink Out Basketball Game on January 24 2014
Warriors for Warriors is hosting a Pink Out basketball game at Walled Lake Western High School on Friday, Jan. 24. The game will start at 7:30 p.m. and tickets are $5 at the door. Donation opportunities will be available at the game for anyone that is interested.
At halftime of the varsity boys’ basketball game, Warriors for Warriors will be presenting three checks for $13,000 each to Susan G. Komen Detroit Race for the Cure; American Cancer Society; and Lakes Area St. Baldrick’s Foundation.
Warriors for Warriors started at Walled Lake Western High School in 2011 with the goals of increasing cancer awareness, raising funds for cancer research and to help create ways for students to get involved with their community. Each fall Warriors for Warriors hosts a Pink Out football game where members of the community not only come to support the Walled Lake Western Warriors on the field but to show support and raise money for those in the community that have been affected by cancer. As the event continues to grow, the more money and awareness can be raised to help fight this deadly disease.
